Chromatin, Inc., a Chicago, Illinois-based agriculture technology company, closed a three-year $12.5m credit facility with The PrivateBank.
The credit facility provides capital to support the company’s sorghum seed business.
Led by CEO Daphne Preuss, Chromatin provides growers and producers with sorghum seed for both traditional agriculture and applications in renewable energy. The company has optimized its product portfolio to create feedstocks that serve as renewable resources for emerging bio-based industries such as liquid transportation fuels, chemicals, materials and biopower.
Today, Chromatin’s products are sold in the U.S. and in more than 20 countries and its sorghum seeds are planted on over 4 million acres worldwide.
The company has also raised over $70 million in equity financing,
