1000 Italy Receives Equity Funding from Maccorp Italiana

-

1000Italy1000 Italy, a startup that has developed a mobile incoming tourism app, received an equity investment of undisclosed amount from Maccorp Italiana Spa.

Within the terms of the agreement, Maccorp, which operates Forexchange, a foreign currency exchange, will support 1000 Italy to expand its commercial efforts through the platform’s channel.

Founded in London by Karin Venneri (Ceo) and Marcello Stani (Cto), 1000 Italy provides a mobile incoming tourism app for iOS and Android, which allows users to discover Italy and its hidden treasures. The platform leverages a community of ambassadors to promote the “unconventional” Italy, helping travellers visit arts, culture, and events taking place in these territories and bringing value to operators.

Developed in Italian, English and Russian, the app has been downloaded over 20k times. It counts 287 “certified” ambassadors, about 7,000 interest points nationwide, and active communities on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

The company has a 6 people team in offices in Rome and Milan. It is also backed by Aldo del Bo, Managing Director di Kaspersky Lab Italia.
