Inventure, a Helsinki, Finland-based venture capital firm, recently closed its second fund, Inventure Fund II, at €68m.
Founded in 2005, Sami Lampinen, Timo Tirkkonen, Ilkka Kivimäki and Fei Xu (Operations, Shangai, China), Inventure is an early-stage venture capital firm focused on backing startups and high tech companies in the Nordics.
Investment areas include technology, software and next generation digital services.
The firm invests can invest €100k up to €10m over a company lifecycle. It currently has 23 companies in portfolio including, among others:
– Blueprint Genetics, which provides clinical gene testing and customized next-generation sequencing (NGS) services,
– Kyynel, which is developing a new wireless communications system able to provide communication into the most demanding operating environments and applications, where at the moment communication is very limited or does not exist,
– CyberLightning, which provides organizations with software platform to capture data from numerous sensors and measurement points, to analyze the captured data, and to present it in business intelligence dashboards, and
– Eliademy, which provides an online education platform that allows people to teach and learn online.
