Blinq Networks Raises US$15.1M Series B Funding

blinqBlinq Networks Inc., a Plano, TX-based developer of small cell backhaul platform, raised US$15.1m Series B funding.

The round was led by WIN Fund LP with participation from Kensington Global Private Equity Fund as a new investor and existing backers BDC Capital, New Venture Partners and Summerhill Venture Partners.

The company, which has raised US$32.5m to date, will use the new funds to continue product innovation, scale operations and accelerate global sales growth.

Founded in June 2010 by Mickey Miller, CEO, Blinq Networks provides wireless backhaul solutions that allow operators to add more mobile capacity allowing subscribers to use the Internet, stream video and engage social networks on mobile devices this resulting in an improved quality of experience, increased usage and reduced subscriber churn.
The company, which has research and development facilities in Ottawa, Canada, recently launched the X-1200 Adaptive NLOS Wireless Backhaul System for small cells, which allows mobile operators to deploy small cell networks, delivering both coverage and capacity where they are most needed.
