Context Relevant, a Seattle, WA-based provider of automated predictive analytics software for Big Data 2.0 applications, completed a $13.5m in Series B-1 funding.
Backers included Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Formation 8, New York Life, and Bloomberg Beta. In conjunction with the funding, Bina Kalola, Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Rana Yared, Managing Director in the Securities Division at Goldman Sachs, joined Context’s board of directors.
The company had closed $21m in a Series B round in May (read here), and this B-1 broght total funding to date to $42m.
Founded in 2012 and led by Stephen Purpura, CEO, Context Relevant provides predictive analytics software that can anticipate changes in operations, customer behavior, product pricing, and what attackers may do allowing users to find answers from data. The company has also entered into strategic partnerships with BofA Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs the use its platform in various ways across the banks. Don Duet, global co-head of Goldman Sachs’ Technology Division, will join Context Relevant’s Advisory Board.
In addition, the company recently opened a New York office to be closer to its Wall Street clients.
