LiveAuctioneers, a NYC-based online platform for live auctions of collectibles, antiques and fine art, raised $47.6m in funding.
The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners. In conjunction with the investment, Bessemer partner Brian Feinstein will be joining LiveAuctioneers’ board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to make investments in people, product innovation, marketing, international expansion and acquisitions.
Founded in 2002 by Chairman Julian Ellison, LiveAuctioneers provides a platform for live and timed auctions of collectibles, antiques, and fine art. It enabled over 2,500 auctioneers and other purveyors of unique inventory to host auctions online.
