Hinge, a New York, NY-based dating social network, closed a $12m Series A funding.
The round was led by Shasta Ventures with participation from existing investors Lowercase, Great Oaks, Eniac and CAA Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Tod Francis, a partner at Shasta, will be joining Hinge’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its development team, improve the product and scale the app into new markets.
Led by Justin McLeod, Founder and CEO, and newly added VP of Engineering Eric Bogs, Hinge is a social network for dating whose app blends real world meeting with social discovery.
