Bento Labs Raises $2M in Seed Funding

bentoBento Labs, a San Francisco, CA-based developer of a customizable home screen for Android phones, raised $2m in seed funding.

Backers included First Round Capital, Google Ventures, Social+Capital, and angels Michael Stoppelman, Rushabh Doshi, Shishir Mehrotra, and Wesley Chan.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the platform and exapnd operations.

Led by Nikhil Chandhok, Founder & CEO, and Kunal Punera, Founder & CTO, Bento is an Android homescreen that uses contextual search to surface relevant apps, notifications, and content. It learns what users do on their phone by surfacing relevant app experiences – regardless of what apps they have installed.
