Cortexica Visual Systems Ltd, a London, UK-based visual search business, raised USD$3.45m in funding.
Imperial Innovations Group Plc made the investment.
The company intends to use the funds to complete the development of new products, due for release mid-year, and expand in Asia.
Led by CEO Iain McCready, and Chairman David Soskin, Cortexica provides cloud-based advanced visual search and image recognition software to global retailers, brands, app developers and digital publishers. Its findSimilar™ software can be integrated by retailers to give their customers the ability to take a picture of an item of clothing or fashion accessory with a mobile device and automatically find similar items from a database of inventory.
The company also has offices in New York and San Francisco.
