Quickplay, a Toronto, Canada-based provider of a managed video platform, secured Canadian $57m in growth capital.
Backers included private equity owner Madison Dearborn Partners, Orix Ventures and Difference Capital Financial.
The company, which has raised more than $150M of total investment, intends to use the funds to expand operations.
Incepted in 2003 by Wayne Purboo, CEO, Quickplay is an end to end managed service provider, powering premium video over all networks and devices. It has become a large provider of linear over-the-top (OTT) TV distributing 700 channels and 4,000 live events each year.
The company has launched multiscreen video services for Verizon, AT&T, Rogers, Bell and TELUS.
On March 4, 2015, Quickplay acquired Roundbox to monetize engaging premium viewing experiences on any device or mobile network by using multicast (one-to-many), and unicast (one-to-one) technologies (read here).
It has also offices in San Diego, Singapore, Chennai, and Frankfurt.
