Attivo Networks, a Fremont, California-based provider of advanced threat detection technology, secured $8m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures. In addition to the funding, Enrique Salem, Enrique Salem, Managing Director of Bain Capital Ventures and former president and CEO of Symantec Corp, joined Attivo’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to increase its investment in product development and support.
Led by Tushar Kothari, CEO, Mano Murthy, Executive VP, and Srikant Vissamsetti SVP of Engineering, Attivo Networks provides a detection solution for BOTs and advanced persistent threats (APTs) as they move laterally inside an organization’s network and data center. The solution is capable of effectively uncovering BOTs and APTs, leveraging honeynet technology in conjunction with its patented techniques.
The company currently serves customers in the healthcare, banking, and technology sectors.
