Freshly Raises $7M in Series A Funding

freshlyFreshly, a New York City, NY-based gourmet meal delivery service, raised $7m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Highland Capital Partners with participation from White Star Capital and Jason Finger (co-founder of Seamless). In conjunction with the funding, Bob Davis, general partner at Highland Capital, joined Freshly’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand throughout the United States, including production and logistics facilities.

Launched in January 2015 by Michael Wystrach and Carter Comstock, Freshly is a gourmet meal delivery company that ships healthy, ready-made meals to customers’homes each week, In addition to providing free overnight and two-day shipping options, the company uses advanced packaging technology to ensure that meals maintain freshness in transit.
It already serves nine western states having shipped more than 200,000 meals in its first five months.
