Dropbox, the service that allows users and businesses to bring photos, docs, and videos anywhere, and share them, acquired Clementine, a San Francisco, CA-based mobile communication solution to connect coworkers.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Following the acquisition, the Clementine service will be shutting down. The free portions of the app will remain active for current users until August 31, 2015 and the company will provide support to regular and premium subscribers as the service transitions.
Led by Vinod Valloppillit, CEO, Samir Naik, CTO, and Satya Patel, Chairman, the company was backed by Homebrew, Redpoint, and WTI.
