DreamBox Learning Closes $10M Series B Funding

dreambox learningDreamBox Learning, a Bellevue, Wash.-based edtech startup, closed a $10m Series B funding.

The round was led by Owl Ventures with participation from Tao Capital Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Tory Patterson, co-founder and managing partner of Owl Ventures, joined DreamBox’ Board of Directors.
Patterson currently serves on the board of other EdTech companies including Newsela, MasteryConnect, and LearnZillion.

The company intends to use the funds to develop its intelligent adaptive platform, accelerate product innovations that will enrich the Educator Experience by providing teachers and district administrators insights from real-time student performance data, and expand its content offering, including additional lessons, enhancements to its engagement framework and additional reporting capabilities for districts and states.

Founded in 2006 by Jessie Woolley-Wilson, president and CEO, DreamBox Learning provides an intelligent adaptive learning platform which offers a combination of adaptive Learning, a K-8 mathematics curriculum and a learning environment. The platform captures every decision a student makes while working in the program and adjusts the student’s learning path appropriately, providing individualized learning paths tailored to a student’s unique needs.
DreamBox Learning Math is available for PC and iPad.
The solution is already supporting nearly 1.5 million active students, more than 75,000 K-8 teachers, and is delivering more than 1 million math lessons daily.
