Virgil Security Raises $525k in Seed Funding

Virgil-SecurityVirgil Security, Inc., a Manassas, VA-based cybersecurity startup, closed $525k in seed funding.

The round was led by angel investors NextGen Angels, Inner Loop Capital, and Panther Angels.

The company intends to use the funds to continue developing its core cybersecurity technology while expanding their go-to-market strategies and staff.

Co-founded by CEO Michael W. Wellman and CTO Dmitry Dain, who are alumni of the Fall 2014 cohort of the MACH37 Cyber Accelerator, Virgil provides cryptographic software libraries combined with a cloud-based public key management service for developers and end-users to enables a new generation of enhanced privacy and security for desktop, mobile, and web applications, cloud services, and the Internet of Things.
