Square 1 Bank, a commercial bank dedicated exclusively to serving the financial needs of the venture capital community and entrepreneurs in all stages of growth and expansion, strengthened its Mid-Atlantic South team with the addition of new hire Ned Hill as senior vice president and managing director for its Atlanta market.
In this role, he will lead the opening of Square 1’s newest office and expand the Bank’s presence in the southeast adding to Square 1 existing offices in Austin, the Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Durham, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, San Diego, Seattle and Washington, DC.
Hill has come to Square 1 with over 25 years of experience as an operator, consultant and investor in technology companies. For the past 15 years, he has been a venture capitalist, most recently as a partner with Houston-based Mercury Fund (formerly DFJ Mercury), a seed and early-stage venture capital firm with over $200 million under management.
Prior to Mercury, Hill was a partner with venture capital firm Sternhill Partners.
Before entering the venture capital space, he held roles with various companies including BellSouth Internet Services in Atlanta and McKinsey & Company in Atlanta and Charlotte.
