The terms of the transaction, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2015, have not been disclosed.
Visirun will add approximately 28,000 vehicles under subscription to Fleetmatics’ existing installed base and add an additional 3,000 customers.
Led by Fabio Previato, founder, Visirun develops mobile based application for fleet management and GPS Tracking for enterprises. The company’s SaaS-based solution shows users in real time where vehicles are and what they are doing. The software detects the operator’s driving style and fuel usage and economy, allowing the company to respect the driving and rest hours European laws , protect customer’s goods and optimize communication and missions management.
Mr Previato will remain with Fleetmatics and manage the Visirun business in Italy along with all of the current employees. The acquiring company will continue supporting and selling Visirun’s solutions in Italy.
