According to a regulatory filing with the S.E.C., Rachio, Inc., a Denver, CO-based developer of smart sprinkler controllers, raised $7.1m in funding.
Fourteen (unnamed) investors have invested in the offering.
Led by Chris Klein, Rachio sells smart controllers that enables people to control their outdoor sprinkler system using a WiFi-enabled iOS or Android device. The company’s cloud-based software allows customers to manage their sprinkler system from anywhere. The app allows users to calibrate soil, vegetation, slope, sun exposure, and nozzle types, to choose from national and personal weather stations to get accurate weather data and make adjustments over time and tune Rachio to their own landscapes.
The controllers are sold at Best Buy and Home Depot stores, Amazon.com and at Apple stores.
