Pickup, a Dallas, Texas-based on demand delivery service featuring drivers and and their pickup trucks, received an investment of undisclosed amount.
Backers included Perot Jain, Wetzer Capital, and some Dallas-based investors.
The company intends to use the funds for continue development of technology platform, expansion of the service regionally, and increase of its team.
Founded in 2014 and led by Brenda Stoner, CEO, Pickup allows people to transport items that are too big to fit in their car or SUV. Drivers include off-duty firefighters, military veterans and others who are required to go through qualification and background checks.
Customers’ goods are insured for up to $20,000. The service can be ordered online or via the app available on iTunes or Google Play.
The company had raised $600k in seed funding in June 2015.
