WiSilica Closes $3.35M Series A Funding

wisilica-logoWiSilica, an Aliso Viejo, CA-based provider of an IoT platform to create smart environments, closed a $3.35m Series A funding round.

The round was led by FirstFloor Capital, with participation from Anchor Asia Management, Aurotek and original angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand adoption of its platform across multiple applications and markets, including the smart home, lighting, energy management and across industries, grow its team of 50 people, mainly focused on R&D with offices in Southern California and India, to continue developing its hardware, software and Cloud IoT platform and technology, while broadening its compatibility, security and privacy features.

Led by Suresh Singamsetty, founder and CEO, WiSilica provides an IoT platform that enables devices to connect to the Internet of Things by using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols to create a “smart environment” in which devices understand contextual elements such as user behaviors, sensor inputs and proximity and have predictive intelligence and are connected by customers with energy, public infrastructure and healthcare systems via mobile apps and the Cloud.
