Immfly, a Barcelona, Spain-based provider of an in-flight sales and communication platform for the travel industry, has closed €2.4m in funding.
la Caixa made the investment through Caixa Capital Risc.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations in Europe.
Co-founded by Pablo Linz and Jimmy M. Von Korff, Immfly provides a platform based around four open Wi-Fi points on board that gives passengers access to entertainment and e-commerce services during their flight in their destination. The company, which partners with Iberia Express to install the platform throughout their entire fleet, has closed agreements with more than 50 media companies, including the BBC, Bloomberg News and the Financial Times to reach an international public via content in English, Spanish and German.
According to a note, the service has been used by over 200,000 passengers on over 11,500 of Iberia Express’ flights.
