Wakie, a Mountain View, CA-based voice communication app, raised another $1m in funding.
Backers included Y Combinator and unnamed American business angels.
Created in Russia and led by CEO Hrachik Adjamian, Wakie provides an AI-based app to find the right person to discuss any question users may have. The app leverages machine learning to learn life experience of each user and to provide better matching for any kind of question.
Started with some preset topics, the app has now pivoted adding an option to create custom topics so people started typing anything they need to discuss.
The app already connects users in over 1,000,000 voice calls per week.
The company is also backed by Leta Capital.
