NYC-based venture capital firm Union Square Ventures closed its latest fund, at $166.8m.
According to regulatory form filed with the SEC, 80 investors participated in the offering.
Led by John Buttrick, Brad Burnham, Albert Wenger, Frederick (Fred) Wilson and Andy Weissman (who are listed in the filing as people related to the raise), Union Square Ventures invests in Internet and mobile Internet businesses backing entrepreneurs focused on creating scalable services and significant value propositions for their end users.
Beyond capital, the firm has created an online and in-person community of CEOs, Engineering, Product, Design, Mobile, People, Data, and Business Development people to help portfolio companies to share experiences, best practices and lessons learned and provides workshops on such topics as growth, legal, finance, taxes, sales, and policy.
