Sharper Shape, a Palo Alto, CA-based drone service company, raised US$3.25m in funding.
The round was led by Straightforward Capital, a European venture capital firm operating in the energy sector, with participation from Australia-based global performance improvement consulting company Partners in Performance (PIP).
The company intends to use the funds to strengthen its global delivery capacity and its investments in R&D.
Led by Tero Heinonen, CEO, Sharper Shape provides Next Eagle®, an automated solution which utilizes UAV for inspection and maintenance of infrastructure assets including power lines, pipelines, railways, etc. allowing owners to reduce the related costs.
The company is also based in Grand Forks, North Dakota and Espoo, Finland.
