InVisage Technologies, Inc., a Menlo Park, Calif.-based fabless semiconductor company that develops a commercial quantum dot-based material for image sensors, has received an equity investment from Intel Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to bring its products and technology into mass production.
Founded in 2006, InVisage Technologies is developing QuantumFilm, an innovative imaging-sensing technology that will replace silicon. The company’s first product enables high resolution images from handheld devices like camera phones and PDAs.
InVisage is backed by RockPort Capital, Charles River Ventures, InterWest Partners, and OnPoint Technologies.
