According to two regulatory forms filed with the SEC, Silicon Valley early stage venture capital firm 500 Startups is extending its global investment activity.
The firm has launched:
– 500 Luchadores II, L.P., its $10m second fund dedicated to Latin America, led by Santiago Zavala de la Vega, Dave McClure, and Bedy Yang, and
– has held the $8.2m first close of 500 TukTuks, L.P., a $15m fund focused on Thai startups led by venture partners Moo Natavudh, Krating Poonpol, Khailee Ng and the same McClure.
500 Startups is a global venture capital firm and startup accelerator with over $200M in assets under management in seed funds across 20 countries.
Since inception in 2010, the firm has invested in over 1,500 technology startups all over the world, including: Credit Karma, GrabTaxi, Twilio, Udemy, Ipsy, TalkDesk, Intercom, MakerBot (acq’d by SSYS), Wildfire (acq’d by GOOG), and Viki (acq’d by Rakuten).
