Sedona Systems, a Ra’anana, Israel, and Cupertino, CA-based creator of an IP/optical converged control platform for service provider networks, closed a $13.6M Series B funding round.
The round was led by Intel Capital, with participation from NextStar and Bessemer Venture Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Yair Shoham of Intel Capital will join Sedona’s board of directors.
The company, which has raised $19.6m, intends to use the funds to accelerate global sales to service providers and conduct R&D activities to broaden the product portfolio.
Led by Yossi Wellingstein, CEO, Sedona has created a multivendor converged control platform for the optical and IP layers of service provider networks. Its multilayer applications handle critical tasks such as automatic network discovery and mapping, coordinated maintenance, automatic optimization, restoration and disaster recovery.
