According to reports, Bill Maris, the founder of GV (formerly Google Ventures), is leaving the firm and Alphabet.
David Krane will take over as CEO and managing partner at GV overseeing the fund’s global activities.
In 2009, Maris founded GV as the venture capital arm of Google.
The firm today backs bold new companies in the fields of life science, healthcare, artificial intelligence, robotics, transportation, cyber security, and agriculture, helping them interface with Google, providing access to its technology and talent.
GV has $2.4 billion under management and made 300 investments including Uber, Nest, Slack, Foundation Medicine, Flatiron Health, and One Medical Group.
The firm is headquartered in Mountain View, California with offices in San Francisco, Boston, New York, and London.
