Klara, a New York-based healthcare messaging company, raised $3m in seed funding.
The round was led by New York’s Lerer Hippeau Ventures and Project A Ventures, with participation from existing investors Atlantic Labs and Groupe Arnault.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the paltform and expand operations.
Founded in 2013 by Simon Bolz and Dr. Simon Lorenz, Klara has created a HIPAA-compliant, B2B2C messaging platform for medical teams to centralize all patient-related communication into one place.
Its cloud-based web and mobile apps are used by hundreds of health systems across the US ranging from solo-provider practices, to modern pharmacy companies, large medical groups and enterprise-level hospitals.
The company also has offices in Berlin.
